The site combines a configurable virtual pen with a shelf for passages: visitors thread beads onto one of seven pen types, pick it up, and select or draw on the page. The pen can hold up to six beads, with five barrel colours and charms including a bunny, bear, sleepy cloud, berry, and ribbon. A browser extension carries the line-keeping action to other pages, while the Mac version is described as using the Services menu.
