Mycelium Flow: Dictation That Stays on the Mac

myceliumflow.app Observed source
Editorial interest 79/100 Selection signal · not a rating of the site

A macOS dictation app that turns a held key, spoken words, and the release of that key into text at the cursor.

Landing page captured for the 2026-09-15 issue.

Field notes

Flow uses a press-and-hold interaction rather than a separate recording screen: speech begins while a key is held and is inserted at the cursor when the key is released. The page says recognition uses whisper.cpp’s large-v3-turbo model on the Mac, with no account, telemetry, or server upload. It also describes a plain-Markdown scratchpad, a filler-word cleanup control, and an optional local punctuation pass. The download requires macOS 13 or later and about 2 GB for the model.
