Pewsition represents each church service as a room-specific seating map rather than using GPS. A participant selects the service, taps a pew and seat, and appears by name only to people they have added; other attendees see an anonymous occupied position. The page says a church or organizer must draw each room once, after which anyone can start a service from a phone. It also states that joining by shared code works without an account, with accounts reserved for friend lists that persist across devices.
