The project describes a powertrain as a sequence of maintainable modules rather than a disposable whole: sensors track component health, and a weak battery or motor module can be exchanged before failure. Its two named concepts divide the work between LONGLIFE vehicles for intensive-use fleets and SECONDLIFE systems assembled from recovered parts, including reused magnets and refurbished e-motors.
