Scale Miniatures: Micro Machines, reconstructed for the browser
An unofficial TypeScript rewrite of the 1994 Micro Machines game that runs in a browser from the player’s own installed game directory.
Field notes
The project reconstructs the game from its disassembled MICRO.EXE, expressing its physics, AI, sprite rendering, and OPL2 sound sequencing in TypeScript rather than running an emulator. The browser reads a visitor’s local installation, requiring MICRO.EXE and a GAME1 folder; floppy-image ZIP files alone are not sufficient. Display modes range from the original DOS 256 × 200 format to a 448 × 240 widescreen mode, and the page documents frame and physics-trace comparisons with the original.
