A Sea Slug Browses Wikipedia
An interactive computational-neuroscience experiment uses four modeled Aplysia neurons to steer a Wikipedia browsing session in the visitor’s tab.
Field notes
The experiment converts a webpage into a sensory stimulus rather than giving the model access to article words. A 32 × 20 grid measures text and image coverage, while page changes feed a separate novelty signal into the circuit. The reduced model uses four named Aplysia cells and six connections, with L7 spikes controlling scrolling and eventual link selection. The captured panel showed the Wikipedia session offline with zero clicks and scroll batches, so the described browser behavior was not observable in this snapshot.
