VLANVerify, a field test for VLAN boundaries
An open-source Linux tool checks whether VLAN segmentation behaves according to a declared policy and produces a self-contained HTML report.
Field notes
The operator defines VLANs and expected pairwise reachability in YAML, while the probe creates 802.1Q sub-interfaces and tests actual ping and TCP paths. Address acquisition tries DHCP before using configured static values, and a VLAN with no address is reported rather than treated as a crash. Results are exported as one HTML file with raw network observations, while the page explicitly limits the report to the moment of the scan.
