DOOM on Solana, byte by byte
Credibility concern recorded. The source reference remains available for verification and correction.
A playable shareware version of DOOM that the page says is stored across 588 Solana transactions and streamed into the browser.
Field notes
The project reconstructs a compressed WebAssembly asset from a root transaction, index transactions, and hundreds of data transactions before booting it in the browser. The page identifies 577 game-data transactions at roughly 3,895 bytes each, alongside a root transaction and an index layer. It also exposes a Node 20 verification example that retrieves the chunks through Solana’s public RPC and checks a SHA-256 value before decompression. A mirror is available when the ledger request does not respond.
