An interactive Aedes aegypti brain model simulates how a female mosquito detects, approaches, and learns about a host.
Field notes
The simulation exposes its internal vocabulary rather than hiding behind a finished animation: modelled units, firing rates, heading, yaw, wingbeat, and event counts are shown as the run proceeds. Its hunting sequence is organized by distance, from CO₂ detection at 10–50 metres to heat and humidity below one metre. The accompanying 3D brain can be rotated, exploded, and traced by region, while the page distinguishes illustrative anatomy from measured biological structure.
