Project Distant Light, a Camera’s View Back Home

Project Distant Light is currently working through concept and feasibility questions rather than reporting an active flight mission. Its proposed payload is photographic: a small spacecraft would look back at Earth and the Moon after travelling beyond our planet, with the site describing the displayed spacecraft imagery as an artist’s concept. The project also leaves room for bounded onboard-AI experiments and invites specific kinds of participation, including spacecraft engineering, mission operations, imaging, research, sponsorship, and press.
