Riftri: Git workspaces without ten full copies
An open-source CLI creates isolated Git worktrees that share unchanged project data through native copy-on-write storage.
Field notes
Riftri builds linked worktrees from an immutable base and native copy-on-write storage, leaving branches, commits, hooks, and status under ordinary Git control. Its reference test used ten assistant-ui worktrees with 5,346 files each and measured 100.62 MiB of new APFS allocation, compared with 774.01 MiB for ten full Git checkouts. The page reports a 22.44-second Riftri creation time versus 9.90 seconds for Git, and explicitly separates the APFS measurement from its experimental Linux and Windows backend support.
