SelectSight: Text Selection for the Unselectable
A forthcoming Chrome extension for extracting text from images, paused videos, and selected screenshot regions.
Field notes
SelectSight organizes its proposed workflow around three source types: images, paused video frames, and regions captured from the visible page. Its stated OCR engine is bundled with the Chrome extension and runs on the device, including during hover-triggered recognition, while the user can review and edit the extracted text before copying it. The first release is explicitly limited: it does not reconstruct tables or convert formulas to LaTeX, and the current preset demo is illustrative rather than live OCR.
