SpreadPaper, the wallpaper that crosses the bezels

A free, open-source macOS utility that turns one photograph into a continuous wallpaper across multiple monitors.

Landing page captured for the 2026-09-16 issue.

Field notes

The editor models the user's actual desk: display sizes, order, gaps, and bezel widths become the placement canvas. SpreadPaper then renders a separate wallpaper file for each display, using display IDs so identical monitors do not collide. Its Dynamic mode accepts up to 16 images and writes time metadata into a HEIC desktop, while Light & Dark uses a two-image pair tied to macOS appearance.
