Thicket, the birdsong app that knows when to stay quiet
A forthcoming offline birdsong identifier that lets birders control which alerts they hear, save sessions, and export confirmed sightings.
Field notes
The planned app combines on-device sound analysis with a deliberately restrained alert system: a species can be flagged once, muted, snoozed, or filtered by local commonness. Sessions retain location, duration, and detected birds, while confirmed records can be sent to eBird or BirdTrack and recordings to iNaturalist. The page names BirdNET V2.4 and Perch 2.0 as selectable models and describes a ten-second colour-coded spectrogram for reviewing missed calls.
