うつわを焼く — A Working Archive of Japanese Ceramics
An open catalog of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean ceramics, organized by object, era, maker, material, and collection.
Field notes
The catalog can be traversed through object, period, ceramic type, collection, and maker indexes rather than a single chronological essay. Its current scope is 279 objects across 25 prefectures, with nine makers and material ranging from Jōmon artifacts to Chinese and Korean ceramics. The project records absence as data: 160 objects have no located photograph yet. Image sources and photographers are identified per work, while text is largely based on Japanese Wikipedia and carries the stated CC BY-SA 4.0 license.
