Xylorix, the Wood-Reading AI
An automated system identifies wood species from macroscopic end-grain images for timber work, customs, research, and field inspection.
Field notes
The system works from macroscopic end-grain photographs captured in the field, following the site’s “Cut-Snap-Identify” workflow. Xylorix presents Inspector as a mobile identification app, PocketWood as a reference database with hundreds of curated species entries and a live-image matching feature, and WIDK-24X01 as a lighting and capture kit. Some Inspector models are available for evaluation, while the full library is restricted to designated partners and specific users.
