Acerinox JR — The Steelwork Behind Colombian Panela
A Moniquirá, Boyacá manufacturer builds custom stainless-steel equipment for panela mills and trapiches.
Field notes
Acerinox JR describes panela production as a sequence of five equipment-dependent stages, beginning with milling and ending with molding or pulverizing. Its catalog includes two- and three-chamber prelimpiers, pirotubular pans with internal tubes, and beating vats fitted with four lockable casters. The manufacturer says each piece is cut, rolled, welded and polished to match a customer’s hornilla dimensions and production volume, rather than selected from a fixed catalog.
