Core Memory Works, a museum with a repair bench
A Roselle, Illinois workshop where visitors can see running vintage computers, take hands-on classes, or bring in obsolete media for restoration and data recovery.
Field notes
The project divides its work between a visitor-facing floor and restoration services for organizations handling obsolete systems or media. Its displayed collection includes a 1966 SEL 810A recovered from a natural-gas pipeline data-control station, an IBM PC that boots from 5.25-inch floppy, and an early Macintosh. Planned programming includes free restoration nights, monthly read-your-old-disks sessions, and an eight-seat soldering class listed at $35.
