Credibility concern recorded. The source reference remains available for verification and correction.

A live reduced leaky integrate-and-fire simulation turns eight synthetic eye channels into a jumping spider’s turns, approach, crouch, and jump.

Field notes

The simulation maps retinal samples and internal state into population rates, then into motor stages including turn, approach, crouch, and jump. Its reference inventory names 6,487 neurons across 40 neuropils and 255,302 delayed synapses, while the live reconstruction reduces that to 320 neurons. The provenance table labels wiring, delays, coordinates, and most numerical parameters as synthetic or estimated, and explicitly says no parameters were measured from a spider brain.
