Norya Turns Aurora Forecasts Into a Go-or-Stay Score
A French iPhone app combines auroral activity, local clouds, darkness, moonlight, and solar-wind data into a 0–100 score for a chosen place and time.
Field notes
Norya builds its recommendation from local conditions rather than displaying Kp alone: NOAA OVATION activity, three cloud layers, visibility, rain, solar altitude, Moon position, and a 30-minute solar-wind average all feed the score. The homepage says the result is calculated on the iPhone without an account or tracking, and that daytime users see the coming night’s predicted peak instead of a misleading daylight-zero reading. Alerts, configurable thresholds, and quiet hours are identified as Norya Pro features.
