Tangerine turns file conversion into a drag gesture
A Mac menu bar app that converts, edits, compresses, and reshapes files without interrupting the drag-and-drop workflow.
Field notes
Tangerine places two configurable keyboard-triggered radial menus over the normal Finder drag: Command opens conversions, while Option-Command opens editing tools. The page lists 75 conversion options and 25 advanced tools across images, video, audio, documents, text, and archives. Batch actions work on same-type selections, and output files remain beside their sources with the originals preserved. Local processing is a central constraint: the site says no upload or account is required and that conversion still works with Wi-Fi disconnected.
