Treemulator: A Forest Stewardship Map for the Long Haul
A browser-based field tool for mapping tree-protection areas, recording their materials, and scheduling the eventual collection of protective tubes.
Field notes
Treemulator organizes work into separate projects, such as a forest district, municipality, or contract, and records mapped areas alongside collection tasks. Boundaries can be drawn manually or captured by walking their corners with GPS. The page offers offline map storage for field use and exports in GeoJSON, CSV, and KML. It also warns that the data remains only in the browser, so users must regularly save project files when changing devices or clearing site data.
