A forthcoming macOS utility that turns Native Instruments’ Rig Kontrol 3 into a configurable MIDI foot controller for Apple silicon Macs.

Landing page captured for the 2026-09-17 issue.

Field notes

NeuRig keeps the Rig Kontrol 3 connected to the Mac by USB while routing individual controls to Mac applications, the unit’s 5-pin MIDI output, or both. The planned mapping system supports CC, Note, and Program Change messages, separate channels per control, pedal calibration, live MIDI monitoring, and saved presets. The page identifies Apple silicon and macOS 13 or later as the target, while noting that the first release will not cover audio-interface support.
