DisplayProbe, the Screen Test Bench
A browser-based suite for checking dead pixels, backlight bleed, burn-in, refresh rate, ghosting, touch, and other display problems.
- For
- People checking a new or troublesome display
- Worth noticing
- Refresh rate uses the median of several hundred frame intervals and unsupported capabilities return unknown.
Field notes
The suite separates visual judgment from measurement: users inspect pixels, bleed, burn-in, motion, and touch through dedicated full-screen pages, while the refresh-rate test aggregates many frame intervals. Its interface includes keyboard controls for moving through fields and returning from full screen. The project also exposes detection limits and says fractional scaling can cause a pixel-perfect test to refuse an answer rather than return a confident result.
