Flightstead: Your Own Place to Publish
A self-hosted iPhone publishing app for sending words, images, links, books, and music to a site on your own domain.
- For
- People who want to publish from an iPhone they control
- Worth noticing
- The server runs as one Node process backed by SQLite, with QR pairing and optional Fediverse delivery.
Field notes
Flightstead describes a small self-hosted publishing stack rather than a conventional hosted social platform. Owners provide the domain, host, email settings, database, media, and backups, then pair an iPhone through a short-lived QR code. The publishing interface is intended to accept material from the standard iOS share sheet, while the resulting site exposes durable URLs, RSS, search, and optional Fediverse delivery. The homepage links to an Uberspace setup walkthrough and the project source, but the App Store listing remains unavailable.
