Death Leaves a Trace
An isometric MMORPG set on Ravenholm, where every death changes what the player and the island leave behind.
- For
- Players drawn to slow, persistent online worlds
- Worth noticing
- The game uses a painted map where each pixel represents one metre and each colour identifies a ground type.
Field notes
The project links its fiction to its mechanics: a binding stone restores a fallen character at the Temple, but death is not treated as a clean reset. The current feature list includes multiple heroes on one account, character creation shaped by answers, weapons and appearance, early quests, trading and training roles, inventory, potions, and island-wide chat. Its world-building pipeline is unusually literal: terrain begins as a colour-coded painted image, then custom tools add structures and objects.
