Pine Box Ridge Turns Gunfights into Secret Timelines
An in-development Western tactics game where both sides secretly plan actions, then watch their gunfight unfold a tenth of a second at a time.
- For
- Players who enjoy tactical Westerns and concealed-information systems
- Worth noticing
- Both sides plan five seconds in secret; the game then resolves their actions at one-tenth-second intervals.
Field notes
Combat is organized as simultaneous five-second plans rather than alternating turns. The page says players can see a shot’s chance before committing and inspect the rolled result afterward, while cover and limb wounds alter exposure and reload speed. Outside combat, saloon encounters avoid visible numerical relationship scores and instead rely on behavior such as nervous hands or repeated glances at the door. The project lists several scenario types and a procedurally changing Broken Country mode, but the demo remains planned.
