Field notes
The instrument assigns each character a single role and lets spatial placement do the arranging: horizontal movement changes rhythm, vertical movement changes pitch, and proximity to the center changes intensity. Characters can also react to one another, while the described eight-bar cycle gives the table a changing structure rather than a static loop. A microphone drawer supports two-bar vocal input, including a mode where the user’s voice becomes Drumling’s beat.
