Mikronome: an oscilloscope without the screen
A student-built portable oscilloscope that aims to stream signal acquisition to a browser over USB or Wi-Fi.
- For
- Students and teaching laboratories needing shared measurement access
- Worth noticing
- The M1 prototype targets two channels and up to 1 MHz of analogue bandwidth, but the target is not yet measured.
Field notes
The project separates signal acquisition from the computing work normally built into a bench instrument. Its current prototype uses a Raspberry Pi Pico to serve live readings, while the acquisition front end and analogue chain remain in development. The team describes a server-based session model in which another participant could observe or operate the measurement interface remotely. The homepage gives no price or release date and identifies the builders as four Wits engineering students working inside an Economics of Design course.
