CityPlate Metro: a city map with unusually serious filters
A real-data place-discovery map for Wellington, Auckland, Sydney, and Melbourne, with filters for cuisine, dietary needs, opening hours, specials, walking distance, and saved places.
- For
- Groups choosing where to eat or drink in four Australasian cities
- Worth noticing
- Its licence badges combine Ministry of Justice and OpenStreetMap matches while excluding ambiguous shared-name matches.
Field notes
The interface distinguishes filters that change the result set from display-only controls such as pin colouring and suburb jumping. Dietary and “Good for” selections use all-of logic, while category and cuisine selections use any-of logic, making the filtering model unusually explicit. Licence badges are presented as records of a licence match rather than proof that alcohol is currently served, and specials carry a date-sensitive warning to check with the venue.
