Color Blindness Simulator
A private browser tool that compares images across four color-vision deficiency views, adjustable severity levels, and multiple simulation methods.
- For
- Designers reviewing charts, maps, interfaces, and illustrations
- Worth noticing
- Each selected view includes a separately auto-scaled grayscale difference map for locating pixel changes.
Field notes
The simulator accepts one JPEG, PNG, or WebP image and lets reviewers hold the image, deficiency type, and severity constant while comparing methods. Its output is organized into Original, Simulated, and Difference views, with the difference map auto-scaled separately for each result. The guide specifically cautions that Machado’s tritan output is approximate and that DeficiencyView uses the same Machado transform, so the two are not independent confirmations.
