Cursay uses a hold-to-speak interaction rather than a persistent recorder: focus a browser, editor, chat, terminal, or document, hold Ctrl + Space, then release to paste. Its default pipeline uses faster-whisper’s base.en model with CPU INT8 and separates transcription from cleanup. The page also documents four writing modes, local searchable history, clipboard verification, and an optional OpenAI-compatible endpoint for rewrites.
