OpenVRoom: A Small Room for Your VRM Self
A browser-based social 3D platform where people bring VRM avatars into shared rooms and explore together.
- For
- People with VRM avatars who want a lightweight browser room for solo exploration or small-group conversation
- Worth noticing
- It supports VRM 0.x and 1.0, while WebXR and room editing remain planned.
Field notes
The preview uses a starter lounge and a default avatar so visitors can enter before they have a VRM file of their own. Movement uses W, A, S, D, mouse dragging, and Shift, while shared sessions synchronize position and walking. The site distinguishes current functionality from future plans: WebXR, room editing, and 3D-asset import are not yet available. It also documents conditional VRM sharing, microphone defaults, connection paths, and short-lived operational logs.
