Field notes
The entries combine clipped headlines with short accounts of what was happening around them: railroads reported 80,000 arrivals for the Dempsey fight, while hurricane bodies were still being recovered near Lake Okeechobee. A “Ran in” note gives each story’s spread across the day’s 82-paper sample, and individual entries identify the source paper and page. The homepage also links to the previous day’s edition and an RSS feed.
