Play begins without signup; the FAQ says an account is needed after the first game to keep playing and join the leaderboard. Players inspect a live feed, place a pin on a world map, then receive distance-based points: within 30 km earns the 5,000-point round maximum. Broken, black, or frozen streams are said to be replaced automatically, and players can skip up to two cameras per game.
