StruPair sorts protein structures into five relationship classes
A browser-based tool that compares two protein backbone structures and assigns their relationship to one of five ordered classes.
- For
- Researchers comparing pairs of protein conformations
- Worth noticing
- It accepts PDB or mmCIF uploads up to 2 MB total per request and asks for a chain ID in each structure.
Field notes
The form requires one chain identifier per structure: label_asym_id for mmCIF and the recorded chain ID for PDB. Requests are limited to 2 MB total, and the site says uploaded temporary files are deleted after each request. Its five classes run from global reorganization through coherent region movement to small structural variation; the page cautions that reported probabilities are uncalibrated and do not represent transition rates or energy barriers.
