The AI Value Report puts AI spending on trial
A leaderboard compares public companies’ AI investment and management claims with value visible in their financial statements.
- For
- Investors tracking public-company AI returns
- Worth noticing
- It excludes AI value claims that cannot be mapped to a reported revenue or cost line.
Field notes
The model excludes quantified management claims unless they map to a reported revenue or cost line. It compares outcomes with four paths: the company’s pre-AI trend, peer difference-in-differences, a generous flat-trend case, and a strict continuation case; the central estimate averages two methods, while the range spans all four and investment estimates. Peer groups cover six sectors, including financials, health care, technology and services, and consumer and retail.
