A free, no-sign-up tool that checks a URL, shows the preview X may build, and explains what to fix.

Landing page captured for the 2026-10-03 issue.

For: People troubleshooting link previews on X
Worth noticing: It warns that X may keep an early grey-box preview for days, even after the page is fixed.

Field notes

The troubleshooting guide distinguishes between fixing a page and getting X to refresh a preview: according to the page, X may retain the first preview it fetched for an exact URL for days. It suggests waiting for the image fetch, nudging the post composer to redraw, or changing the URL with a query parameter. The maker is identified as @brianball, and the site says it records checked links to count successful fixes.
