ClassSplit, the classroom roster balancer
A browser-based tool for teachers to arrange students into classes while balancing class sizes, student needs, and placement requests.
- For
- Teachers and principals making next year's class lists
- Worth noticing
- Manual moves update warnings, and unmet requests are listed with reasons for review.
Field notes
Input is pasted one student per row, with optional current class and attributes such as reading and math bands, behavior, English-learner and support flags, and notes. Teachers configure class names, teachers, and size caps, then add ranked friend requests, keep-apart pairs, sibling rules, or teacher requests. The page says unmet requests are explained, while teachers retain control of individual moves; printouts include lists, placement cards, a principal summary, and an unmet-request sheet.
