A free browser instrument lets you choose chords, strum a virtual plate, and add rhythms, with controls for keyboard play and sound.

Landing page captured for the 2026-10-06 issue.

For: People exploring chords without a traditional instrument
Worth noticing: Keyboard rows trigger major, minor, and seventh chords; pressing multiple buttons together creates additional chord types.

Field notes

The chord buttons follow the circle of fifths, with neighboring keys placed side by side. The instructions also map keyboard rows to major, minor, and seventh chords, and describe combining buttons for other chord types, including sus4 and add9. Rhythm choices listed on the page include rock, disco, bossa nova, waltz, samba, march, and trap.
