Reef: an app store for Sailfish OS
Reef is a development-stage app-store project for Sailfish OS phones, with listings matched to the phone’s software release and a companion layer for running Silica apps on Qt 6.
- For
- Sailfish OS phone owners
- Worth noticing
- Listings identify the Sailfish release tested; the repository index and each package are signed with Reef’s key.
Field notes
Reef separates package installation from compatibility work: Keel is described as the Qt 6 layer for Silica apps, while Reef handles installation and updates. The page gives a concrete release-matching example and says signature checks apply to both the repository index and individual packages. It also lists GPL licensing for the installer and Reef app, and MIT licensing for Keel; publication of the source is described as planned before the first release.
