Eyesight Sim, a vision simulator for product design
A browser-based simulator lets designers view remotes, app screens, and labels at real size and distance through modeled eyesight profiles.
- For
- Product designers testing interfaces for older adults
- Worth noticing
- Users crop an image and enter its real-world dimensions to set its display scale.
Field notes
The simulator starts with remote-control and mobile-UI examples, and also accepts an uploaded image: users select a region, then enter its physical dimensions to establish scale. Controls include age-based presbyopia profiles, refractive prescriptions, astigmatism, pupil size, lighting, and viewing distance; settings are stored in the browser. The page says the optical models remain drafts and have not been validated with people who have the relevant vision conditions.
