Sign and Burn: rotating keys for a Safe
A Base Sepolia test project gives an ordinary Safe a passkey-backed owner seat that uses a one-time key for each approval.
- For
- Safe developers testing passkey-based key rotation
- Worth noticing
- The in-browser MicroPython console runs in WebAssembly; copying its files to a Pico or ESP32 is explicitly described as untested.
Field notes
According to the page, the underlying Safe remains an ordinary Safe 1.4.1; a small contract occupies one owner seat and checks the passkey’s P-256 signature alongside a Winternitz one-time signature. The browser console is described as roughly 1,000 lines of MicroPython running in WebAssembly, with a transaction-hash and decoder workflow that refuses transactions it cannot explain. Its proposed Pico and ESP32 copies are explicitly not yet tested on physical boards.
