Eight apps, one optional radio-shack controller
OpenHamShack is a free, open-source suite of amateur-radio apps for desktop and mobile, with an optional controller for sharing a station.
- For
- Amateur-radio operators and station builders
- Worth noticing
- Most apps start on built-in simulators; the controller’s band-plan coverage is complete for the UK and IARU Region 1, partial elsewhere.
Field notes
Each desktop app can run independently, with its own logbook and station profile; most open on a built-in simulator. The optional controller is a bootable installer for 64-bit Intel/AMD PCs: it can host the app store, synchronize a shared logbook, and arbitrate radio access. Band-plan data is complete for the UK and IARU Region 1 from 2200 m to 3 cm; other regions are explicitly marked partial. The page says transmit paths have not had formal on-air testing.
