Vigiovo: deterministic egg inspection on the conveyor
Vigiovo is software that classifies conveyor-belt eggs as clean, dirty, cracked, or not verified using classical computer vision.
- For
- Egg processors and conveyor-line inspection teams
- Worth noticing
- Video decisions use three checks per egg; a defect must appear in at least two checks for the egg to be rejected.
Field notes
Classification uses fixed, readable thresholds rather than a trained neural network: the page describes shell-color masking, scale normalization, watershed separation for touching eggs, and defect measurements. In video, each egg is checked three times and rejected only when a defect appears in at least two checks. The published accuracy figures come from synthetic scenes with known labels; the site says a pilot would be calibrated against images from the customer’s own conveyor.
