A $19 Mac menu-bar app that reads selected text, PDFs, screenshots, and web articles aloud, with no subscription.

Landing page captured for the 2026-10-12 issue.

For: Mac users who read PDFs, screenshots, and web articles
Worth noticing: The PDF reader rejoins hyphenated line breaks and omits running headers, footers, and page numbers.

Field notes

For selected text, the page describes speech through macOS Accessibility and a right-click Services option that it says needs no permission. For screenshots, users draw a capture box with ⌃⌥O; the page says OCR runs on the Mac. The optional Kokoro voice is described as a 327 MB download, limited to Apple-silicon Macs on macOS 15 or later.
