A free Windows app that keeps screenshots and screen recordings along a line at the top of the screen, ready to copy, move, or share.

Landing page captured for the 2026-10-12 issue.

For: Windows users who capture screenshots or screen recordings
Worth noticing: It can watch any folder the user chooses; pressing and holding a capture opens it for markup in Paint.

Field notes

Hotkeys cover area capture (Ctrl+Alt+S), full-screen capture (Ctrl+Alt+F), and recording (Ctrl+Alt+R); Print Screen can optionally replace Windows’ built-in tool. The page says Hangshot can also watch any folder the user chooses, accepts images or videos dragged onto the top edge, and hides over full-screen media and from screen captures. Its local-only, no-account design is presented as a privacy measure.
