Ladycliff College: An Alumnae Archive on the Hudson
A reading archive of Ladycliff College’s history and the alumnae journal, guestbook, reunion news, and remembrances that remained online from 2004 to about 2022.
- For
- Ladycliff alumnae and readers of Highland Falls history
- Worth noticing
- The journal includes recollections of a class cat, a tandem bike and skirt, and a commencement speech that did not happen.
Field notes
The historical account follows the site from the Franciscan Sisters’ 1900 purchase of Cranston’s Hotel through Ladycliff College’s final on-campus graduating class in 1980. It also tracks what happened to the campus after it passed to West Point: Rosary Hall became the West Point Museum, while Mary Hall became a military guesthouse. The preserved journal includes both campus recollections and small details of student life, while the news section records reunions, a plaque and gazebo, and obituaries.
