RackReady: a workout plan that knows its way around the rack
A workout tracker that shows your exercises, calculates barbell plate loading, remembers previous weights, and offers exercise substitutions.
- For
- People following strength routines at varied gyms
- Worth noticing
- For each barbell set, it draws the plates needed on each side and lists them for warm-ups and working sets.
Field notes
The exercise list spans barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, cable and pin-stack machines, bands, bodyweight work, cardio, and mobility. The app also tracks estimated one-rep maxes, personal records, weekly sets per muscle, rest times, and training load. Its creator, Jonathan, connects the project to his own difficulty following a spreadsheet-based program between sets; he says workout data stays on the phone, with backup files under the user’s control.
