NYC Express: A Subway Replay Prototype
An interactive prototype replays every subway train on two selected 2026 service days, letting riders test routes against the trains’ actual times.
- For
- NYC subway riders comparing routes and wait times
- Worth noticing
- Its Saturday example includes skipped stations, a South Bronx service gap, and shuttle buses replacing the A to Far Rockaway.
Field notes
The replay clock can be paused or run at 1×, 10×, or 60×, and the prototype includes weekday and Saturday service. Its examples show disruptions alongside route choices: on the selected Saturday, the 1 skipped 103 St–125 St, the 6 did not run in the South Bronx, and the A did not reach Far Rockaway. The page reports that live-position tests on past weekdays got its wait advice right about four times in five; that result is self-reported.
